| Mr.T.K.Palaniyappan had impressive service as Civil Administrator of Warangal. And later as District Collector of Thanjavur, established the Famous THANJAVUR ART GALLARY, and was largely responsible for building the T.B.Sanatorium, Sengapatti in Thanjavur District. Besides the guindy industrial estate, Poompuhar Sales Emporium for sale of Art Pieces and several Polytechnics sprang up in Tamil Nadu due to his tireless efforts. After a distinguished record of service, he retired as Chairman of Madras Port Trust in 1967 and passed away in 1981 | |

Project sprang up due to the tireless efforts of TK.Palaniyappan. The Estate was named after the well known Tamil Writer Thiru.V.Kalyanasundaram, as a mark of respect. Being the forerunner of all other Industrial Estates in the country, the Guindy Estate which was set up in 1956 pioneered the concept of Industrial Estate in India |
